YAY!!!!

Sorry, didn't see your 'ghost', sf. As always, when all else fails -
reboot -

Somehow (don't ask me how!!!) mIRC now works with this Win8 machine -
woohoo - heheheh. Sure beats using that teeny keyboard on the 10"
tablet, which is better than no access, that's undeniable

For an android tablet newsreader, I use(d) "PhoNews" except it would not
let me post unless I purchased the 'app' (won't do that). Thank
goodness I now have Thunderbird up and working on the laptop - woohoo!

For an IRC android tablet (jelly bean, whatever) app/client, I used
"AndroIRC", and it was a bare-bones IRC app, and it's definitely better
than no connection at all. I'm just glad I finally got my mIRC client
to connect now

server(s) = irc.networkforjunkies.com
channel = #rec.food.cooking

HTH

Sky, who's still working to configure this dang-fangled Win8 laptop !!!
