Jill, if I've been drinking a lot of red wine, I'll get a headache from
the sulfites they put in it to preserve it.
A few years ago we celebrated new years eve in Buenos Aires, Argentina
at a party held in a Tango show venue. Dinner came with the price of the
evening and there were bottles of Malbec on the table. I probably drank
three or four of them myself over the course of the evening. I was
dancing with everyone...old, young, male, female... didn't matter to me,
I was in uber-party mode and having a great time.
Later, after celebrating the new year with a whole bunch of sparkling
wine, I figured I'd wake up the next AM with one hell of a red wine
headache. Didn't happen because the Malbec was local wine and not
treated with sulfites.
Some day I'm gonna get me back to Buenos Aires for the Malbec and the
best ever in my life rib eye steaks. If it wasn't for my experiences in
BA, I think I would have died not knowing w3hat meat really tastes like.
