I gather there was no suffering... if one has to go it's best to go
quick/unexpectedly. I've seen too many suffer severely for several
years before dying... of course their loved ones endure the same
protracted suffering as well. At least the departed are done with
suffering, unfortunately the loved ones suffer the details every day
for years, perhaps so long as they live... and often with a lot of
guilt always wondering if they could have done something more. My mom
was terminal for six years, what an awful odessy. Two years later my
dad got in his car one morning and as he inched from the curb a
massive coronary, he never knew.
