Cordless phones do need recharging and won't work during a power outage. I
was amazed when we had that big outage in NY that most people did not have a
corded phone at all. We did. At that point in time all but one were
corded. And we had one of those plans where we didn't pay for long
distance. Not in this country anyway... So tons of people were in and out
of our place, using the phone.
Now we are down to just two corded phones. One in my bedroom and one in the
back house. I think we've only ever used the back house one once.
