Uh, no. Have you ever hired an electrician or a handyman? Here they cost
$250 just to get through the door. With Mr. Handyman, that allows you 2
hours of work plus parts. Calling him for just something like that would be
stupid. Don't you think? I did hire him to put on the new storm door. We
needed that right away as the old one became so totally broken that the wind
was ripping it around. And the screen had fallen totally out of it. He had
fixed it prior. Wasn't his fault that the fix didn't hold. The whole thing
was jury rigged to begin with. Before that I hired him to do all sorts of
work at once. When I do have him back, it will be to do many things.
I can complain about any damned thing that I want, just like you can. So I
order food online? It's either food that I can't find around here...and I'm
not going to spend hours driving around looking for shelf stable food! Or I
am sending gifts and it is far cheaper for me to go that route than to ship
it myself. Most of what Costco sells comes with free shipping! At least
for the foods and you do get a lot of food for that price. Their gift
baskets are unbelievable values. Remember, they are a wholesaler!
Also when I was stuck on the couch and could not get out, I had no choice
but to order online. But now? If I am ordering from...say...Walmart or
Drugstore, it is because the prices are cheaper. When my husband wanted
Slimfast, Walmart had a good special going on. Assorted drinks and foods
(you chose what you wanted) for a price that was about half what I would pay
in a brick and mortar store. The price was only good online. And free
shipping!
Recently Drugstore offered a free shopping tote with "green" items in it if
you spent a certain dollar amount on "green" items. I looked to see what
they counted as "green". I started with Biobags as I needed the larger
ones. Yes, I can buy those in the store around the corner but I will only
buy on sale as they are expensive. Drugstore beat their sale price! Yes,
Costco sells the tiny ones. I needed the bigger ones. And guess what
counted as green? Jerky. That was on my grocery list. The bacon jerky in
particular. Sooo... I bought something I was already going to buy. I paid
less than what I would pay at the brick and mortar store. *And* I got free
stuff to boot! Most of what I got was cosmetics. There were some vitamins,
OTC meds, eye drops and food. Tons of free stuff. And we have either used
or will use most of it. So why not?
Oh and don't want to read my long winded stories? Don't read them. You
keep forcing me into a position to where I feel the need to defend what I am
doing to you. I shouldn't have to do that. But if I don't? You'll keep
taking potshots at me. There's nothing at all wrong with buying food online
or sending food gifts. Maybe you are just upset because you're not getting
any? Food gifts that is. I don't know. I have no clue why what I do in my
house is so upsetting to you. But clearly it is.
