Then why not try the Spice House in Chicago? It is run by Bill Penzeys sister
and I believe it to be what Penzeys use to be before all the expansion. Spice
House encourages whole spices you grate yourself.
I live near a Penzeys store and go there for a few items, shop a local spice
merchant for the bulk and mail order anything special from the Spice House.
