I tried this at home. I exited the program via task manager, then
tried to open it. I had a blank screen for too long, then my list
appeared. When I went back to task manager, the program had signed in
and was accessing the internet. When I signed out of the program, it
opened up without accessing the internet - but I prefer killing it via
task manager because I don't have go through all of the screens that I
need to go through just to sign in.

If I didn't want it to access the internet, I'd delete it and use the
bundled memo app.
