I felt the same way about my dog Sampson. He was like my child, only a
month shy of his 18th birthday when I had to have him PTS. He had been
with me all of my adult life. The last thing I wanted was to rush out
and get another dog. As it happens, nearly a year later Persia showed
up at my patio door and demanded to be let inside. I'd never had a cat
before... it's certainly different.
