According to the inflation calculator, if it cost $1.29 in 1968, it
would cost $8.52 in 2013.

A local restaurant here has a 3 piece catfish dinner with fries and a
tossed salad for $7.99 and a 5 piece version for $9.99. Not AYCE, but
even I can't eat more than 5 pieces.
