Have potatoes gone way up in price? The Russets seem like they are still
cheap but any others are not. I bought those little red ones at Target and
thought they were pricey but didn't want to stop at another store. And the
label boasted that they would cook quickly. They did not. I roasted them
with some other veggies and at an hour they were still hard. Then I lost
track of the time as an old friend called me and we got to yapping. I think
they cooked for hours. A few had started to get slightly loose, wrinkled
skin but otherwise fine.

So today I looked at Safeway, forgetting that they only have bagged Russets.
All others are loose. I'll buy loose to use right away but to keep around I
prefer a bag.

Then I went to Central Market. The bagged reds were $7.98 for 5 pounds.
Yeah they were organic but...eek! The yellow ones were $1 less and some
other kind were $1 less but I won't pay that much.

I had been looking around at potatoes whenever I went into a store because I
hadn't seen any sales but the prices were higher than I wanted to pay.

Have the prices gone up in your area? I guess we'll be eating Russets or
something else, like pasta unless the prices come down.
