The Gulf Coast has about 50 different breeds of shark, and I have eaten
a few of them. My favorite is the lemon shark, and I have a picture of
my dad catching one. In Texas, you need a fishing license and you are
allowed to catch one shark, per person, per day. Shark finning is illegal.
I've gone scuba diving in the Flower Garden Bank and Stetson Bank and I
have seen hammerheads, nurse sharks, catnose, tiger shark. I do stay
away from bull sharks, but most sharks are harmless, there are over 300
variety of sharks and only 3-4 varieties of sharks are known to attack
people.
