Hmmm...
I don't have a specific recipe to share as of now, but what if you
combined honey, bourbon, some liquid smoke and asian pear that has been
pureed and cooked it down in a saucepan to a nice thickness?
You'd have the sweet, savory, and smoky all in one.
You might start with:
1/2 cup honey
4 ounces bourbon
1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke
2 asian pears, skinned and pulsed to a puree in the blender
For some heat a bit of roasted poblano pepper puree or even grated
ginger could also be added.
