Yes, same situation here. Luckily I have never had to commute
behind a school bus, but I've seen how it goes. Hello, it's a
busy road and people are trying to get to work.

There was some uproar a few years ago, windy 2 lane but very busy
road. One house had a special needs child. They would put him
on the bus, then the driver and the mother would talk, all the
while people are reaching their boiling point. Horns were involved,
probably yelling. I guess. Mother was very upset because the child
was getting upset.

Uh ... how about putting him on the bus and skipping the chit chat,
or pull into the driveway. Some consideration for the people waiting.

Absolutely. Years ago all the kids would gather on my lawn. My
neighbor told the bus driver They don't even have kids, why are you
stopping there? We don't want anyone to seem like they're getting
door to door service. That's sure different than what I've seen
more recently.

Before anything thinks anything, having the kids gather in
front of my house didn't bother me in the least, and I never
said boo to anyone about it.

Heh. I can just picture the hullabaloo.
