We were on vacation the weekend of Katrina, and the hotel we were staying
at in Memphis was filling up with N.O. refugees as we were checking out,
headed for wilderness camping. We had a happy weekend on an Ozark creek, a tributary of the Mississippi River unaware of the horror. On the way back,
we stopped to get pizza, and heard on the news that rescue efforts were
being suspended to focus on preventing looting.

Good job, "Brownie." Great reaction to a disaster. Leave innocent, poor,
brown skinned Americans to die to protect property. The mayor of Ferguson
was a former leader of the Young Republicans. The extant GOP dishonors the
first Republican president with their overt racism.
