This would be a big flaw with the Google Groups mobile interface. It's been that way for years but it is only until recently that I've seen people beginning to use it sans quotes.
Folks will bitch about it but that's just the nature of the beast. I've even posted that way myself. Like you, I replied to the OP. Personally, I like the idea of posting to the entire group instead of a person. I don't have any problems with the way people choose to post. OTOH, the stuff they say - Oy Vey!
