They always make things look so easy on TV although it doesn't take
too long to figure out how to use the hand crank. My DD also has the
pasta attachment for her machine. I'll borrow it someday and
experiment.

I remember my exSIL either did hers with a rolling pin or used the
hand crank. Her family gave her the motorized version, but she
returned it because she preferred having more control over the
process. I wish I'd learned how to roll pasta from her because
rolling out the dough is a real learning process as far as knowing
when to stop. I always end up making my dough thinner than I like.
It's not one of those things I remember until I start eating it and
then I realize I needed to stop at a higher number (then forget the
next time I do it).
