My mother's family has roots in Scotland, Ireland, France and Germany,
and had been here since the mid 18th century and she loved lamb. My
father was the son of immigrants from England. He hated lamb. His
dislike of it seemed to have been the result of spending three years in
the UK during the war and having been fed too many meals of mutton.
