It is all a plot Julie. They are out to get you by putting a few mouse turds in every bag of rice.
Take a quantity of rice in one hand and use the other hand to pick out the shrivelled and broken kernels. Same with the discolored ones and so on until you have an acceptable sample. Continue on until the whole bag has been cleaned of extraneous material. Store the cleaned rice in a container with a tight lid. Problem solved and you have saved money instead of "tossing" the whole shebang.
"Tossing"...pet name for Julie's method of disposal.
