Default Thanksgiving is Boring - What to do?

Not on Thanksgiving day, but we do decorate the day after.

First off, we have a fake tree (so no worries about needles and dryness).
Second, we have a whole tradition surrounding the decorating of the tree.

We buy a new special ornament every year. We started it the first year we
were together, and by the time we're ancient, we'll have a tree full of
special memories. Then when we decorate the tree, we do it in chronological
order, remembering where we were when we bought each ornament and thinking
about how our lives have changed. It's really nice. Every year we put
up a slide show of our ornaments on our website, too. I'll let you know
when we put that up this year if anyone's interested.

(Oh I'm not interested in any sort of discussion about how "unreal" a fake
tree makes the holidays for you. The holidays at my house are my concern,
y'all can do what you want )
