Default When free isn't really free!

And yes, I should have known to look for the fine print but I didn't.
Anyway... I've been doing My Coke Rewards for years now. Mostly I turn the
points in for free Coke products. So today I attempted to use a coupon for
a free 12 pack. The cashier said I couldn't use it because the coupon was
only good for up to $4.99 and the price of the soda was $6.29. What she
should have done was subtract $4.99 from my order. This has since been
confirmed with the manager over the phone. I had attempted to go to
customer service but there was a long line of people there, all looking at
their receipts with a puzzled look on their faces. They had only the one
cashier working and according to the manager, she hasn't been trained
properly. They did have the self serve registers but I dislike using those.

I don't think any store in this area sells a 12 pack of soda for less than
$4.99. Possibly Winco or Walmart. But I will at least look for a store
that sells it for less because I'd like it to be a close to free as I can
get!
