That's utter nonsense. California grows more carrots than anyplace in the
country and that goes for a lot of vegetables and fruits like peaches,
pears, apricots, grapes, oranges, lemons, limes, melons of all kinds,
squashes, tomatoes, beets and a zillion other foods that one can hardly call
"luxury."
