You forgot to write the first sentence in your response:
"Thank you for that offer, Gary, but-"

I expected that answer from you. Selling paint has nothing to do with
a lifetime of using it and knowing the process and what kinds of
different paints and primers to use based on conditions.

I often hear paint salesman telling a customer what to use for certain
conditions and I have to bite my tongue not to say something. It's
their store. They only know what the company tells them. They have
never actually used the products and see if they last or not.

Once again, I'll give you very first basic advice of having your
outside painted. Any painted surfaces need to be washed before
painting. If you don't do this, you are painting over years of dust
and dirt. Your job will look very nice but it won't last very long.

You trust your neighbor painter. You should stay awake the day that he
starts and make sure that he cleans it all, pressure washing if big
areas, hand washing if small areas....at least spray it down with a
hose.

Julie's response:
"In this area, paint jobs don't last very long anyway."
