Ophy, I don't think you 'got' her meaning with that.
I do the same thing some nights.

Someone writes something annoying or whatever and when you first read
it you might reply in a mean way...either by emotional response or
even if you've been drinking. You send it in the heat of the moment
and sometimes you wake up the next morning and wish you hadn't sent
it.

I do that sometimes. When posting a not-so-friendly response, I've
learned to save it as a 'draft' rather than send it. Then the next
day, when you are in a different mood, you read it again and then
decide to send it or not. I've deleted many drafts the next day by
doing that.
