Mr.Kitty here lived almost 20 years on "crap" grocery store cat food.
I tried all the better pet store foods and he wouldn't eat any of
them. Instead he loved 'Meow Mix' for the always available dry food
and each day he got 1/2 can of 9-Lives meaty food. He only liked the
various seafood flavors.

As he lived such a long and healthy life, I often wonder if the 'crap'
food is really all that bad.

Ferret, on the other hand, eats a blend of the 3 most healthiest
brands sold only in pet stores. I buy 3 kinds and mix them together.
When I run out and have to buy more, it's a costly purchase but it
will last for months. The cost per day isn't so bad.

Rare picture of the 'Himalayan Snow Ferret' discovered on my
back porch one morning. They are a protected species now.
I named him Fred and he was a good friend for many years.
