You aren't missing anything. One thing they did was put Mexican food
on the map for us non-Mexicans. People's palates matured, but Taco
Bell either remained the same or cheapened. I liked it at first
(truth be told, I liked their "hot" sauce more than the taco itself +
it was teenager cheap food) and then took a hiatus of a couple decade
- when I tried it again... phooey! I must say I did like their
"Mexican Pizza" back when it was first introduced, but that's another
thing I haven't tried in ages and looking at current images, I doubt
I'd like it today.
