I had a Sunbeam foodsaver, an earlier model than this:

which had the tube. Never did try it though.

I upgraded to an Italian made Orved vacuum sealer a few years ago, as
I was vacuum sealing a hell of a lot, and need something a bit more
'industrial'. The Sunbeam was also quite noisy. Not sure if the Orved
has the tube or not... I'll have to take another look at it. Can't
find the exact same model as mine, but this one is very close:
