If you dispassionately compare all first-world (and even some 2nd and
3rd world nations), the U.S has more in common with oppressive Islamic
nations than most others. By that I'm alluding to religious extremism,
incarceration rates and restrictions on true freedom of speech. Then
there are things like TSA, and the general thin-skinned over the top
reaction to any form of criticism. You just don't see that in many
other countries.
