Gary, you cannot make a blanket statement about cats. Some cats may not
show affection. Stand-offish is often the word used. I'm sorry
lucretia has a cat that doesn't care but...
My cat Persia barged into my house, said I'm going to live with you and
I'm going to sleep with you. I'll snuggle against you and purr. I'll
be very cute and loving. All you have to do is feed me and take care of
me. Oh, and a few toys wouldn't hurt.
Buffy is the same way. Very affectionate. She rolls around and wants
her tummy rubbed. That's a very vulnerable position for a cat to take.
She trusts me. I even think she might even love me.
I know I love her.
