Absolutely. He made it sound like never again. Now he's saying he'll
wait until retirement. That makes more sense since he explained how
they need that much attention.

I know nothing about ferrets other than I think they're cute (and one
once scared my mother - it got loose and a little boy came looking for
it.) Cats tend to live longer. Persia was nearly 16. Cats pretty much
take care of themselves. All they need is a litter box, food and water.
Oh, and some toys. Cats sleep a lot so going to work, not a problem.
