I was making microwave popcorn before they ever thought about marketing the
stuff. (Dammit, remind me to get a patent the next time.) I used a brown
paper lunch bag and regular popping corn. No added butter or oil. I *did*
sprinkle the bag lightly with water because I was afraid it might catch on
fire. Kept an eye on it as it popped. It worked just fine. YMMV and I'm
not held responsible if you catch your kitchen or microwave on fire in the
attempts.
