Default Grocery Store Dinner for Christmas

This is a first for me. I have always cooked from scratch as much as
possible. I am doing chemo, and had an infusion Monday. I will be down and
out with fatigue over Christmas. I ordered the "complete" meal from out
local Sprouts store. They use a "natural" turkey, so picked them over the
big chain stores. At least we will have food in the house and lots of left
overs (just the two of us this year). I am curious how this meal will be,
but it will fill the bill.

We got that once and it was a disappointment. I also ordered a dinner
online once and again a disappointment. Instead of getting the turkey
breast I had ordered, they sent a huge, whole turkey! This created a
problem as it came frozen and I had to quickly cook up some stuff from the
freezer to accommodate it until ready to use it. Then buy a pan to heat it
in as I had nothing that large. And then then there was a lot of mess and
waste because we didn't want that much turkey, for anything! Also, the
sides were disappointing because they had a lot of crap in them like soybean
oil instead of butter.

We no longer have a Boston Market here but when we did, we once got dinner
from them. It was excellent. But there was a problem. We wanted more
food! We were given the exact amount of portions for the number of people
we had at the table but for some things, we wanted more. And there was no
more. My dad said that the next year, he would just order two dinners. But
sadly, they are no longer here.

I got the turkey breast from Schwans and it is really very good. Cooks in
about 2.5 hours from frozen. And it's not huge. Yes, there will be some
leftover, but not so much that it leaves me attempting to find uses for the
turkey or throwing it out. For this house, it works best to cook just what
is needed, unless I know ahead of time that the leftovers will get eaten.
