I know someone who was a trash collector, here. Do not know him well. Would
see him at the dance studio. He always looked worn out and would often fall
asleep while his daughter was taking her one class.
After a couple of years, I noticed that he looked like he was more well
groomed, better dressed, not falling asleep and seemed much happier. Only
then did I find out that he'd changed jobs. I heard someone asking him about
it. He is now a road flagger. He said that although the job was a tad boring
and it still wasn't good having to be out in the elements, it was far less
wearing on his body than collecting trash and the pay was much better. His
daughter was then able to take more dance classes. I guess he couldn't
afford more before. His wife works, but I don't know where. The girl is an
only child.
