I much prefer curly leaf parsley for most uses, it's sweeter than flat
leaf. Flat leaf parsely being slightly bitter works well in strongly
flavored dishes like tomato sauce and beef stews. Curly leaf parsley
works well in chicken dishes, especially chicken soups, and also with
uncooked dishes such as salads of all types (flat leaf would ruin a
creamy egg salad). I grow curly leaf parsley, not flat leaf. Each
year I have a small flat (4-6 plants) of curly leaf parsley growing in
the ground at my rear deck, easy to get to for cooking, and produces
more than I can possibly use. The one time I planted parsley in my
garden it was a chore to get while cooking so most times I'd do with
out. I don't even need to be dressed to get parsley by my deck, it's
only like six steps from my back door and no one can see me there. My
vegetable garden is a good 250' away. I like that spot for my garden
because there's a natural spring flowing there that even during the
dryest weather keeps my garden moist so I do very little hose
watering:

I plant parsley in that bed at the side of my deck stairs, right at
