More likely your feet changed as you aged.

I used to have no problem buying shoes except for some expensive Italian
boots that I really wanted. They were sized oddly and nothing would fit.
Wore 8B and occasionally 7.5 B. But my feet changed when pregnant. Now I
wear 9D but can only wear a very few specific brands. Most shoes do not fit
me at all.
