It's funny you mentioned that Sheldon! My son in law, whose Mom is a
Brooklyn born second generation Italian American, uses the term "WTF"
probably 30 times a day. Yes, it is not the Queen's English, and he
doesn't care. His Mom also calls my grandson a "little wretch" right
after she hands him a thousand bucks for his birthday.
