I shop all times of day. I never see surly cashiers and I haven't
seen any customers from Hell either. I've heard stories from cashiers
who had worked in dicier areas, and those bad customers are usually
strung out on (abusing) something - alcohol, drugs, whatever.

That's why it's better for the super sensitive to shop during the
early shift. Only the A-holes are in a bad mood at that time of day.
