Good to know and thanks <g>. Well, I preferred to be safer than sorry,
and that's why I just upped and cooked the bacon and sausage. Ooops,
this situation is one I very seldom encounter, my bad.
Really it was no big deal to cook the bacon and the sausage patties
tonight, albeit a small personal PITA time-wise; I had plans that did
not involve cooking. It's good to realize vacuumed-sealed meats like
uncooked bacon and thawed, raw, breakfast sausage tubes can still be
good to cook and consume after more than a few, short hours of
non-refrigeration. However, I personally would not wish to push that
"cook-by mark" more than 24- to 36-hours (give or take, circumstances
depending) afterwards, and YMMV <g>.
Who'd like to wager if bove were to encounter such a situation as I had
this afternoon and evening(?). Would bove send the uncooked, unused
bacon and sausage to the garbage with nary a second glance or subsequent
consideration to finances -- or would she cook immediately cook it use
at a later date? Yay or nay?
Sky, who's just curious and won't keep score
P.S. I sure do miss those RFC surveys of old - they were fun!!! VBG!
