Spam is canned meat.

It's very good in hash, Gary. It's also great sliced and fried as-is and
eaten in a sandwich, or by itself with eggs and hash browns as a breakfast
meat. I don't think I've eaten it for 30 some years, but my mom cooked it
often enough when I was a kid (usually as breakfast for dinner). I grew up
less than an hour away from the home of Spam so it's part of my cultural
heritage.
