Moving is not always an economical option.

I have to wonder why they bought the house in the first place. It
sounds like she never liked it. Actually, it reminds me of something
from Mother Goose:

"There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sixpence against a crooked stile;
He bought a crooked cat which caught a crooked mouse,
