I live in a rural area with a lot of fruits and vegetables and always
buy local produce in season, even if it costs more. The corn I am having
with my dinner tonight was picked this morning. The strawberries we had
yesterday were picked yesterday morning. Most fruits taste a lot better
when eaten as soon as possible after
picking. It is also income for my neighbours and that keeps the money
local.
