You didn't get a full cartridge. New laser printers start with a cartridge
that has less toner in it. You're not supposed to notice this.
The last time I had to replace my B&W laser printer I gave away the
partially full old cartridge for free on Craigslist.
I only print in color when necessary. So I still have plenty of toner left
in the original cartridge in my color laser printer
