One of the timing belts broke at 61,000 miles. I suppose it was my fault because they recommended that it be changed at 60,000 miles. Anyway, it was a very bad experience. Those CU guys must be boring, lackluster, pie-in-the-sky, hippies.

Just don't let my Swedish stepmom know about how I feel. She's from Goteborg - home of Volvo. Of course, they're working on a self-driving vehicle. What car company isn't? OTOH, as far as cars go, I'd rather have a Cheby or better yet, an Audi.

I have a VW Passat which is a rebodied Audi A4. The front suspension arms have to be replaced, all the plastic connectors to the air and coolant hoses under the hood will break in 10 years. The check engine lights are famous for being on all the time in these cars, the headliner disintegrated in our climate. Of course, there's the usual timing belt, water pump, and belt tensioner that will need replacing. Other than that, it's a great car.
I highly recommend these beauties to anyone that enjoys working on cars or is seeking to have a close, personal, relationship with a professional mechanic named Fritz or Warner.
