This is the fun thing about weather forecasts along the coast and
coastal islands. Tide information and beware the rip tides! IOW, don't
be stupid and go swimming. LOL

No kayaking, either!

I'll let you know how things fare... Most discussion seems to center on
storm surges, rip tides and possible flooding. I suspect the really big
deal will be sustained high wind speeds. Even at a category 2, as slow
as this thing is moving, sustained heavy winds could be a real problem.
There are a *lot* of large trees around here.

One of my neighbors mentioned on the Dataw listserv how grateful she was
the landscaping company she uses sent someone over (without her asking)
and offered to put her patio furniture in the garage for her.

I replied back and said don't be surprised to find a charge for that on
your next bill!

I truly believe she thought they were being helpful. I used to use this
lawn service/landscaping company. They like to sneak things onto the
bill. Spraying for weeds. I didn't ask you to spray for weeds.
Furthermore, I didn't see anyone walking around spraying for weeds and
HMMMM, I was at home when they were here.

One day I came home and found a guy on the roof, cleaning the gutters.
Um, I didn't ask you to do that. Of course I was billed for it.

I surely hope she doesn't think they moved her patio furniture out of
the goodness of their hearts.

I saw a LOT of landscaping trucks around the island today. Drumming up
business. It's a Hurricane Sale, no doubt!
