People are suckers for various shapes. I am reminded of my first year
psychology courses and the issue of volume in tall skinny containers
vs. short narrow ones. Most people assume that the taller one contains
more. I have mentioned in the past about Shredded Wheat downsizing
their boxes a few years ago. They started laying the packs of three
biscuits on their side, two per layer, instead of stacking them on top
of each other and they ended up with a box of 18 that appeared to be the
same size as the old one that held 24.
