That's how it *looks*. I've never actually tasted split pea soup.
(Don't ask me why I have a bag of dried split peas in the pantry.)

Food that doesn't look appealing is a turn-off for many people. I'm
sure many people haven't eaten sausage gravy spooned over biscuits
because it, too, looks like "vomit". LOL
