Yup, Galaxy S3 that I'd had for years. Only change was a new
charger cable. I've read a lot about the same problem with these
phones since then. I only charge during the day now and in the
same room I'm in.

Thank you. Slow recovery. Hospital doctor blamed the liver
failure on one the medications I was taking. I was pretty stupid
about it because I hated doctors and the first time I got sick I
let it go for a week thinking it was a stomach bug or food
poisoning but I spent a week vomiting and unable to keep anything
down including water. It went away for the most part but in
hindsight I didn't take any of my medications because even those
wouldn't stay down. I felt better for about a week and it started
up again only worse, I couldn't work or even stay out of bed but
by then I was kind of afraid to know what was going on do I
didn't see a doctor until one night I couldn't take it anymore
and I called 911. I hadn't even told anyone other than my manager
at work how sick I was. Like I said, I was really stupid about
it.
Once off of the medication I started feeling better but even after
a month and a half I haven't really gotten my appetite back and
most of my protein and calories are from protein shakes with
fruit blended in. It's been rough. Before I seeked medical
treatment I lost 30 pounds in 3 weeks. It's still dropping but
I've been staying to eat a few normal dinners. :-)
I think the worst part was the dehydration. Sorry this got really
long but I just wanted to pass on that if a medication has a
possible side effect of liver damage, to take it seriously and
get the blood tests when the doctor orders them. Though in my
case my doctor was surprised by the cause because she'd never
heard of this with that med.
