I've read about the overheating problem for years, but fire seems to
be the newest twist. Fortunately, researchers at Stanford University
have developed a lithium-ion battery that shuts down as it begins to
overheat. Until it becomes the industry standard, we need to pay
attention and replace batteries that overheat ASAP.
