I pretty much loathed him when he was in office, but as I've aged and come
to my senses, I'd personally rate him right up their with both President
Roosevelts and Harry Truman on my "Greatest 20th Century Presidents List"...

His relationship with Maggie Thatcher was serendipitous, the world was
pretty lucky that they lived in the same era and get so much done
together...

His handling of and relationship with the Soviet leadership, especially
Gorbachev, was truly brilliant. He had forces on both the right and the
left urging him to do their wishes (Kissinger, Nixon, his own cabinet and
advisers, the Democrats, the Nuclear Anti - Freeze movement, European and
domestic public opinion...). He stood his ground, and in the end, he
prevailed...and history has proved him correct. And Maggie was one who
supported him in all of this...
