How dare we dicount other life forms?

Imagine you bite into a hamburger, a hook sets in YOUR thoat, and you
get yanked out of the restaurant only to be shot in the head then cut up
an eaten. Or walk through the woods and you step on a leg trap that you
can't get out of. You lay there and slowly die in pain of starvation or
hypothermia until someone comes along and skins and eats you.

Or maybe whoever catches you alive will be humane and drown you.
