Seems to me it was a kitchen scale *you* recommended, or at least
seconded, in a thread a couple of years ago. I didn't own a kitchen
scale. Discussion, and this is the scale I bought:

Doesn't fold up, doesn't fit neatly next to the cookbooks. But it
really does not take up much space. I rarely use my scale. But it is
kinda nifty looking.
